The Japanese Society for Patristic Studies (JSPS) was established in the autumn of 1976 to aim at the advancement of the study in Japan of the Fathers of the Church and related fields. Since 1994, the Society has been publishing the proceedings of the colloquia, entitled the Patristica, annually. The first supplementary volume of the Patristica (written in English, French, and German) was issued in 2001. Membership is open to all who share the objectives of the Society.
